Open Position: Caster

LOCATION: Aurora, IN

DEPARTMENT : Foundry
JOB TITLE : Caster
REPORTS TO : Foundry Foreman
TYPE OF POSITION : Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position will pour and regulate the flow of molten metal through the entire process in order to produce finished casting that meet set expectations. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collect samples, or signal workers to sample metal for analysis
  • Pour and regulate the flow of molten metal into molds and forms to produce casting, using ladles.
  • Read temperature gauges and observe color changes; then adjust furnace flames or electrical heating units as necessary to melt metal to specifications.
  • Examine molds to ensure they are clean, smooth, and properly coated.
  • Metal band saw excess metal from castings per specifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: MS Office applications, ERP, Office 365 and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma/GED preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Walking, Standing, sitting, listening and talking on a wide variety and continual basis. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.  Movement generally throughout the manufacturing areas required. Ability to travel to both locations on a regular basis. Able to withstand a hot environment.

HOURS: We are currently hiring for 2nd and 3rd shift. Starts times for these shifts are 3:00 pm ($0.75 shift differential) and 6:45 pm ($1.50 shift differential). You will be scheduled to work 4-10 hour days (Mon-Thurs) unless overtime is required.

SALARY: Starting pay is $12.00 per hour plus the applicable shift differential.

Open Position: Polisher

LOCATION: Lawrenceburg, IN

DEPARTMENT: Polishing

REPORTS TO: Polishing Foreman

TYPE OF POSITION: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for grinding, sanding, and polishing objects made out of metal. Uses cloth, hand tools, and power tools to ensure a smooth surface. Inspects for flaws or cracks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Grind, sand, and polish objects.
  • Correct defects.
  • Prepare surface for further finishing.
  • Mark cracks and splits for repair.
  • Position grinding equipment over surface.
  • Start grinding process by turning on equipment.
  • Adjust output of power.
  • Run automatic blasting machine
  • Polish and grind materials according to specifications.
  • Ability to stand in one area majority of shift.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: ERP, Technical Capacity, mathematical skills. Results Driven. Initiative. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Open Position: Machinist

LOCATION: Lawrenceburg, IN

DEPARTMENT: Machine Shop

REPORTS TO: Machine Shop Foreman

TYPE OF POSITION: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The CNC machinist operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The CNC machinist loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs all assigned machine shop operations
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
  • Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding task.
  • Completes and maintains any necessary paperwork, documentation.
  • Assists in other work areas as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: MS Office applications, ERP, Office 365, mathematical skills, mechanical capacity, technical capacity, time management and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Open Position: Quality Assurance Lead

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

TYPE OF POSITION: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: A self-starter that plans, develops, coordinates, implements and manages quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production quality, consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals. Responsible for ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance. Responsible for ISO certification, to include company compliance, audits and reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Develops and implements quality assurance, standards policies and procedures to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards.

Revises and updates the quality control manual to incorporate statistical control programs

In conjunction with purchasing, develops and maintains a supplier quality index, utilizing statistical control programs, to assure that only high-quality vendors are retained.

    • Working with production management, using lean/6 sigma tools

Collect and compile statistical quality data

Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system

Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions

Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities

    • Conduct training sessions to keep department personnel informed on procedures, methods, use of equipment and other QC techniques.
    • Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data

Prepares all necessary quality reports as required by customers and staff personnel

    • Oversees and supervises the Inspection Department

Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems

Responsible for calibration reporting and control consistent with ISO standards

    • Primary lead on attaining and retaining ISO certification

Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements

Facilitates compliance activities by preparing for and representing the company during all ISO & customer audits.

Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers

Evaluate and document audit findings. Implement appropriate corrective actions

Monitor risk management activities

Responsible for QC document management systems

  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues including all RMA’s
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
